SSWB offers direct and wrap-around services to individuals facing homelessness or housing instability in Fort McMurray. We act as a vital link between clients and community agencies, ensuring access to the full range of support they need.
Originally called the Supportive Transitional Housing Team, SWBB was established in July 2002 as a response to the need for agency coordination in providing advocacy and support to ‘hard to house clients’ seeking appropriate housing.
In recent years, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has encountered destructive floods and devastating fires. Alongside these challenges, the community has observed a rise in homelessness, substance addiction, and mental health concerns. SSWB plays a vital role in aiding the most vulnerable individuals in our community during these trying circumstances.
